The 7 Homecoming 2018 Trends We LOVE!

Although it seems like summer is just heating up, fall (and school!) is right around the corner, and it’s never too early to start thinking about what you might want to wear to the homecoming dance! The newest collections are in and this season has brought us a ton of  incredible looks fit for any style or event!

To kick off homecoming season, we’ve chosen to showcase seven of our favorite trend for this fall, paired with some of the best dresses, all of which can be found on the Anne’s Bridals website. If you fall in love with one of our picks, just click on the image to get more information!

Chic Velvet

Whether it’s smooth, or crushed, velvet is a great material for a fall or winter dance! This luxurious material not only commands attention because of its luscious texture, it’s also a great tribute to edgy ’90s fashion that’s been making a huge comeback! Velvet looks great in deep jewel tones that compliment the season perfectly.

Statement Sleeves

If you want to make a bold statement with your dress, sleeves are a great way to add drama and detail without making a dress too over-the-top. We love all of the variations a sleeve can have, from long, embroidered bell sleeves, to an asymmetrical one-sleeved look, there is a style of sleeve to fit any girl’s tastes! Plus, if you’re going to a chilly outdoor affair, a dress with sleeves can be a great way to stay warm without having to cover your amazing look with a cumbersome sweater or jacket!

Luxe Embroidery

Embroidery has always been one of our all-time favorite embellishments, simply because of how much it can elevate a look. A simple black dress is transformed by some intricate thread detailing, creating a luxurious, textured look that is sure to attract attention! This season, simple dresses adorned with golden embroidery is super on trend, but our top pick is the gorgeous long-sleeved Jovani gown featuring beaded, embroidered birds- so cute!

Sophisticated Wine

Every season has its biggest colors, and this fall, wine is the winner! This rich red is the updated, grown-up version of the classic bright red that’s a popular choice for prom and homecoming girls every season. We love how warm and romantic this red is, making it the perfect shade for a sultry soiree! Pair it with matching lipstick and some nude heels for a chic and unforgettable look.

Deep Prints

Prom season is all about pretty light colors like pastels and whites, while fall calls for deeper, richer tones that will compliment the shorter days and colder weather. Even florals, which are normally a preppy spring print, are getting a moody update in colors like black, royal blue and maroon. If you want to carry your favorite spring/summer trend into fall, we definitely recommend checking out this style!

Shimmery Metallics

Gold, silver, bronze, oh my! This season, you don’t have to win an award to be the center of attention, as ultra-shimmery metallics take center stage. You’ll look and feel like a star in one of these incredible dresses (or jumpsuits!) and all eyes will be on you as you shine on the dance floor! We would keep accessories and jewelry simple and really allow one of these incredible dresses to do all of the talking!

Flouncy Feathers

Can you think of anything more fun and flirty than feathers? We can’t! This season, we’ve seen a ton of dresses that incorporate feathers in a big way, from floaty feather skirts and edgy feather sleeves, to an angelic dress covered from neckline to hem in a layer of dreamy, downy feathers. However you choose to wear this couture-esque trend, you’ll be the definition of glamour and an object of envy for anyone NOT following this fabulous trend!
